Schuylkill Township
is located along the Schuylkill River
on the eastern border of Chester County
in southeastern Pennsylvania.

The township covers 9.44 square miles.
Population at the 2010 census was 8,516.

The Schuylkill River forms the township's
northern boundary, and Mount Misery
(also known as Valley Forge Mountain)
is the southern boundary. To the east is
Valley Forge National Historical Park.
The Borough of Phoenixville lies to the north
and west.

Changes in the Collection of Earned Income Taxes
Act 32 of 2008 amends the Local Tax Enabling Act to require the county-wide consolidated collection of earned income tax (EIT). See the attached notice for details.
The Chester Tax Collection Committee (CTCC) recently appointed Keystone Collections Group to serve as the Earned Income Tax (EIT) and Local Services Tax (LST) collector for school and municipal taxing authorities within Chester County. More information >>>

Route 29 Weekday Closures Scheduled in Charlestown and Schuylkill Townships for Pavement Repairs
Weekday closures of Route 29 in Charlestown and Schuylkill townships will start Wednesday, May 2 and last approximately three weeks for pavement repairs, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said today. Route 29 will be closed and detoured between Charlestown Road and Pothouse Road on Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through May 25. The posted detour will direct through traffic over White Horse Road and Pothouse Road. Local access will be maintained.

Through vintage photographs and film clips, take a behind-the-scenes tour of this vanished studio, once located along the banks of the Schuylkill River, with Joseph P. Eckhardt,Emeritus Professor of History at Montgomery County Community College.
