Mr. Faran Savitz
The Schuylkill Township Environmental Advisory Council invites all Township residents to attend this important presentation. Plastic pollution is a major problem facing every community across the country. Products like plastic bags and foam cups are used for a few minutes, and then thrown away, polluting our environment for hundreds, if not thousands of years.
Join this virtual discussion on plastics waste in Pennsylvania, ways to tackle single-use plastics locally, and how people can reduce their footprint.
Faran Savitz works on PennEnvironment’s Conservation and Zero Waste programs, working to reduce plastic waste in Pennsylvania and to protect our parks and open spaces. Faran’s work has included helping to pass bans on single-use plastic across Pennsylvania, including in Philadelphia, promoting the Zero Waste PA package of legislation, protecting major conservation laws like the Land and Water Conservation Fund, and publishing the report “Microplastics in Pennsylvania” which was the result of a project testing over 50 Pennsylvania waterways for microplastic pollution.”
