Schuylkill Township is required to develop and implement a Pollutant Reduction Plan (PRP) for Municipal Separate Stormwater System (MS4) discharges to the impaired watercourse of Valley Creek within the urbanized area in Schuylkill Township. The PRP is required by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) as a component of the Township’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Individual Permit for Stormwater Discharges from Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4s). The updated Pollutant Reduction Plan outlines, in general terms, the Township’s 5-year plan between 2019 and 2024 to reduce sediment loadings from the MS4 stormwater discharges to Valley Creek.
To review the proposed plan, please find the Schuylkill Township Updated PRP PDF under attachments.
The Pollutant Reduction Plan will be presented and discussed publicly at the November 8, 2023, Board of Supervisors meeting.
Any comments on the PRP should be provided in written format, delivered in-person, via e-mail, or regular mail, and addressed to Laurie Getz, Township Manager, Schuylkill Township. The Board of Supervisors will not consider comments received after November 15, 2023.
